The Campus of St. Thomas More University Parish
St. Thomas More University Parish is located on Thurstin Avenue on the west side of BGSU campus, across the street from McDonald Hall. On the weekends you may park in BGSU Lot 3 located across the street or use the paved parking lot in front of the church. A permit is required for overnight parking at St. Thomas More.
All of the daily and weekend liturgies are held in the main Church. Over the past several years there have been additions in and around the main body of the church. On the west end of the church there are two statues, one of Mary holding the Christ child and the other Joseph holding his carpentry tools, along with votive candles.
Fireside Lounge is an important part of the Newman Center here at St. Thomas More. Throughout the academic year, Fireside Lounge serves as a great place for students to meet new people and have a lot of fun! Equipped with a pool table, a ping pong table, a foosball table, and cupboards full of games and decks of cards, students have many opportunities to challenge their colleagues in between classes and during study breaks.
Come to Fireside in the evening and you may find a group of students watching a movie projected on the big screen. Fireside provides comfortable seating for relaxing and if you’re lucky, you may catch one of our many talented students playing a tune on the piano.
Don’t miss a chance to meet someone new! Come on in and enjoy some of the comforts of home!
The Antioch Library has study tables, comfortable furniture for reading, and multiple books and tapes on nearly everything you need to know about the Catholic faith. The Antioch Library is a quiet place to study, do homework, or just read a book.
Antioch Dining Room
The Antioch Dining Room, located next to the library, features a beautiful mural of the Middle East. With seating available for up to 28 people, Antioch Dining Room is a great place for our Newman Housing Residents to enjoy community meals together. This room is attached to a fully functioning kitchen, which allows for easy access to serve food to the tables.
The Courtyard is located down the sidewalk towards the main Church. This is a great place to relax during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. There is a bench swing and other benches around the courtyard, as well as a little waterfall flowing in to a miniature pond. Enjoy spending time outside during the nice weather.
Seton Hall is located across the courtyard from the church. It is a gym (with basketball net) that doubles as a banquet hall for larger events. It can seat approximately 120 people with round tables or approximately 175 people with rectangular tables. Throughout the academic year, free dinners called Thou Shall Chow are held in Seton Hall every Sunday after the 5:00 p.m. Mass, with the exception of holidays and fall/spring/summer breaks.
Fatima Chapel, a small chapel located on the campus of St. Thomas More, is a great place for quiet prayer and mediation. Inside of Fatima chapel, you will find a small altar along with a bookshelf containing prayers, rosaries, and Bibles that you may use during your time spent in prayer.
The Merton, Martin de Porres, Romero and Zacchaeus Rooms are all average-sized classrooms used on Sunday mornings for our Religious Education. Space is made available in the Romero Room on occasion for smaller meetings and conferences.
